Fall Recruitment
September 24-29, 2007
Formal recruitment at UC Davis is an opportunity for all women interested in joining a sorority to meet the members
of the Panhellenic sororities on campus. Recruitment provides the opportunity to get to know many amazing new people
and discover the amazing things that the Greek system can offer.
On the first day of recruitment, September 24, after registering with the Panhellenic Council, (You may do
this online - CLICK HERE),
you will be divided into groups where you will meet your Recruitment Counselor, and they will be able to answer any questions you may have
throughout the entire week. The first day of the recruitment process, on Monday, is Greek Info Faire Day, when you will have the
opportunity to meet with all of the eight houses at UC Davis. On Tuesday, House Tours Day, you will have the chance to visit all
of the sorority houses that you are invited back to. The third day of recruitment, Wednesday, is Philanthropy Day, and gives each
chapter the opportunity to share with you their local and national community service, as well as their philanthropic events.
Thursday is your day off to enjoy the first day of school, and take a break from Recruitment. Finally, on Friday, you visit one
or two chapters for Preference Night. Saturday is the most exciting day of the week; Bid Day, when you receive an invitation to join a sorority.
Kappa Alpha Theta can not wait to meet our new pledge class of 2007!

Why be Greek?
Being Greek means more than wearing your sorority t-shirt, going to meetings, and formals. Greek organizations provide support for
excellence in scholarship, leadership and service. Theta stands for academic excellence; involvement and leadership; community
service and philanthropy; sisterhood and friendship.
Being Greek makes memories that last a life time. College is a learning experience when you discover who you truly are, and what
you want to do with the rest of your life. During your tenure at UC Davis you’ll go through some rough times and some great times,
and your sorority sisters will be with you every step of the way!
Your sorority is the group of girls that you can call when you need help in your statistics class, or someone to tutor you in Spanish.
Your Theta sisters are the ones that go out with you on Friday night, and the same girls that watch movies the entire next day. They
sit with you in class, and they make long road trips home some of the most entertaining hours ever spent in a car. They go on endless
coffee dates, and never-ending trips to the Rec Pool. They get you through the worst days of your life, and are part of the best ones.
Being Greek helps you make the best memories of your life. When you look back on college, you probably won’t remember the answers to
your chemistry problem set, or how to conjugate verbs in French, but you can bet you’ll remember being a Theta at UCD.
Further, the professional opportunities sororities offer is amazing. By being a member of a sorority, you open a flowing tap of
opportunities in the professional world. Job searches are greatly aided by the fact that your older sister may be working at a
company where you want to work, making it much easier for you to obtain interviews and find out about job openings. Beyond offering
invaluable connections, holding offices in a sorority strengthens an individual's ability to manage time, assume responsibilities,
and interact with others.
Once you go Theta, you’ll never go back!
